The Beaphar Gentle Leader Dog Head Collar features a patented design that mimics the natural muzzle grab used by confident, higher-ranking dogs and canines to communicate reassurance, reinforce bonds, and discourage unwanted behaviours. More than just a training aid, it promotes a positive relationship with your dog and helps establish you as their pack leader. It offers gentle, effective leadership, making home training quick, simple, and enjoyable.
Once correctly fitted, your dog associates the collar with positive cues, leveraging instincts to reduce pulling, lunging at others, and other undesired behaviours.
Walking on a lead is a learned skill, and dogs naturally pull against restraint. The Gentle Leader mitigates this through three methods:
1. Gentle pressure on the back of the neck promotes relaxation, akin to a mother carrying a puppy by the scruff.
2. Gentle pressure around the muzzle from the nose loop provides reassuring control.
3. It functions like a halter, guiding the body by directing the nose.
Designed by veterinary surgeon Professor Robert Anderson and Ruth Foster, it is easy to fit and, once adjusted, generally requires no further modification unless your dog is still growing.
Suitable for dogs from 8 weeks of age.
Size guide for medium breeds: Labrador, Cocker & Springer Spaniels, German Shepherd, Boxer, Retriever, Dobermann, Staffordshire Bull Terrier. (Bitches and young dogs may need a size smaller.)

For orders over £49, we offer a FREE express next day (1-2day) delivery service. Orders must be received before 11 am on a working day for next-day delivery. Orders received before 11 am on a Friday will be delivered over the weekend.
This next-day service excludes 'Partner Delivery’ items and orders weighing over 30kg.
Delivery Prices/Times:
- UK mainland STANDARD EXPRESS (1-2 days): £5.99 (free when you spend over £49) max 30kg
- Each additional 30kg increment will be charged at £5.99
Standard Express orders will be delivered within 1-2 business days (please note that during extremely busy periods and in the event of courier issues beyond our control, this timeframe may be exceeded). The delivery time frame starts from the day your order is dispatched. Provided we receive your order before 11:00 a.m., we endeavour to dispatch it on the same day.
Please note:
Whilst Express Delivery is available for some items. If your order contains other partner delivery items, these will be dispatched separately, and you may receive multiple tracking numbers and deliveries.
This delivery service does not include orders placed on weekends or Bank Holidays. Any orders placed after 11 am on Friday, over the weekend, or on a bank holiday will be dispatched the following working day. For example, if you order on a Saturday, it will be dispatched on Monday for delivery on Tuesday.
Restrictions:
We do not ship internationally, and unfortunately, we cannot offer delivery to Scotland, the Islands or Northern Ireland at present.
We will review these delivery options later, but we must add some restrictions as we are just establishing ourselves.
